Aleksandra Szmyd as Pamina during the 34th Mozart Festival

On 29 and 31 May 2025, Aleksandra Szmyd appeared as Pamina in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” during the 34th Mozart Festival in Warsaw. The performances took place at the Warsaw Chamber Opera and formed part of one of Europe’s most important festivals dedicated to Mozart’s music.

The production, directed by Giovanny Castellanos, combined the opera’s classical symbolism with modern visual elements created by Rafał Olbiński and Sylwester Siejna. Aleksandra Szmyd performed alongside Aleksander Kunach as Tamino, Katarzyna Drelich as the Queen of the Night and Remigiusz Łukomski as Sarastro.

Mozart repertoire at the Warsaw Chamber Opera

The role of Pamina remains one of the most lyrical and emotionally expressive parts in Mozart’s operatic repertoire. Audiences heard the famous aria “Ach, ich fühl’s”, considered one of the most moving moments of the opera. The performances were warmly received by festival audiences, while the musical interpretation emphasized both the delicacy and dramatic depth of Mozart’s work.

The performances were conducted by Marcin Sompoliński and Howard Arman together with the Warsaw Chamber Opera Early Music Ensemble Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense.
