On 5 and 6 January, Aleksandra Szmyd performed during the New Year’s Gala in Little Vienna at the Polish Theatre in Bielsko-Biała. The concerts featured La Nostra Banda conducted by Jacek Obstarczyk, together with soloists Aleksandra Szmyd, Wiktoria Węgrzyn-Lichosyt, Adam Myrczek and Tomek Lorek.
The evenings were filled with music by some of the greatest composers of operetta, musical theatre and salon repertoire. Audiences heard waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss, charming works by Ferenc Lehár and Imre Kálmán, as well as well-known classics from the world of musical theatre.
A New Year concert in Bielsko-Biała
The gala took the audience on an elegant musical journey through repertoire associated with the Viennese concert tradition. Aleksandra Szmyd’s appearance formed part of an evening combining lightness, melody and theatrical brilliance characteristic of music from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
