She’s known for her outstanding performances for example as Musetta from the opera “La Boheme” at the Klosterneuburg festival in Austria, belcanto gala in Musikverein in Vienna, Gilda from the opera “Rigoletto” at Kurpark Bad Schwalbach, Clorinda from the opera „La Cenerentola” in cooperation with the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Susanna from the opera „Le nozze di Figaro” with the Sommerakadmie of the Wiener Philharmoniker in Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein in Graz and Salzburg.
Among her numerous awards, Aleksandra Szmyd has won the 2nd prize at the prestigious belcanto competition: Competizione dell’Opera, 3rd prize at the Giulio Perotti International Singing Competition in Ueckermunde and the special prize at the XII Elena Obraztsova International Opera Competition in St. Petersburg.
She graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Krakow (in the class of Prof. Ryszard Karczykowski) and from the Musik und Kunst Universität der Stadt Wien (in the class of Prof. Linda Watson). In addition, she perfected her skills in postgraduate studies at the Universität fur Music und Darstellende Kunst Wien in class of Prof. Claudia Visca.
